Terminal West at King Plow

Spring/Summer 2012

Compiling this post took me a little while only because I wanted it to be perfect. Just the way two good friends of mine, Robert and Alan, have constructed Atlanta's newest concert venue and event hall, Terminal West.

The build began back in late 2011 when "studio C" became available on the properties of King Plow Art Center, located in Atlanta's west midtown. The space was completely gutted on the inside and left practicly nothing but walls and concrete before starting to rebuild.

Overall the construction took a total of about 5 months. The venue is now complete with 2 full indoor bars, 1 outdoor/patio bar, enourmous hardwood stage, incredible decour and an incomparable state of the art sound and lighting system! The opening months have been nothing short of amazing for the entire team at Terminal West. The spectrum of events hosted has varied from multiple breaktrough, sellout shows to futune-500 clients hosting their company events and even a wedding! Here's a few shots of the venue and what's been going on recently (March-July 2012):

STS9 Strikes Back in Athens

Spring 2011

STS9 (Sound Tribe Sector 9) showed up big in Athens, GA at the Classic Center, after taking about a 4 month break from from their usual rigorous tour schedule.  Everyone could sense from start to finish that there was something behind the shows and it ran across the smiling faces of crowd and band members alike.  Not being familiar with the Classic Center I was extremely pleased the whole time with the venue as a whole.  The sound was amazing, ushers extremely generous and not a bad seat in the house.  It was truly inspiring to see David Murphy back on stage and doing so well after such a short recovery period.  The sets were a perfect mix of old and new.  I thank these guys and the whole community for constantly inspiring myself and others around me.  A few pictures and set lists from the shows below.. Until next time!

Recap: R.A.C. Event

Spring 2011

The Rock Against Cancer event ended up being a huge success! The monetary goal of the day ended up being doubled and all in attendance raised nearly $2,000 towards the fight against cancer. Not only was the raffle a great success but good times were had by all.  Noise Org played a great set of music that set the tone for everyone hanging out in the green Athens field. The David Haledesigned glasses ended up selling out as expected and many people went home with winnings from the raffle. It was the perfect way to start off a couple of amazing nights in Athens with STS9. A few pics from the event below...

Rock Against Cancer - 4/20/11

Spring 2011

The Terrapin Brewery in Athens, GA is hosting an official pre-party before STS9 hits the classic center for a highly anticipated two night run.  The event is actually a "Rock Against Cancer" show where all proceeds will go towards cancer research.  The tunes will be provided by some dear friends of mine otherwise known as Noise[Org].  Trust me when I say these guys know how to play some beautiful music.

The organizers of the event graciously asked us here at iwallyphoto to donate some prints toward the event's charity raffle.  We'll be donating two multi-print custom frames and feel honored to have work along side some of our all time favorite artists.

Some of the additional artists donating work are Jason GarciaKris DavidsonDavid HaleAndrew WagnerChristian JaxtheimerPlaant clothing and more.

A BIG thank you to Julia at Soho Myraid Gallery for helping out with the frames. Another thank you to Kat at the Moog Gallery for coming through in the clutch with some last minute adjustments.  Both are great places to visit concerning custom frames and art design in Atlanta.

Pictured below: custom framed prints we're donating (top: 2 8x10s from the 2009 Athens run || bottom: 3 5x7s from the acoustic tabernacle set 2010), custom event glasses by David Hale and the event poster.  Can't wait to see you guys there and raise some funds toward beating this cancer thing!
