Live at the Georgia Theatre: Bobby & Sarah's Wedding Proposal!

Summer 2012

I arrived at about 930am on this particular sunday morning in order to find the best angles and just get familiar with the downtown surroundings.  The scheduled time was 10:15 a.m. so this left me about 45 min to scope out downtown athens during some of it's calmest hours.  I have to say there isn't any place quite like downtown Athens, GA. All the cool old store fronts and huge old trees lining the streets. During that time I also watched the shadows perfectly dissappear from the marquee right as the arrival time neared for Bobby and Sarah.

As the couple rounded the corner the whole intersection was instantly filled with their joyous surprise and excitment. Even a few students that happened to be walking by gave their congratulatories.  Needless to say Sarah said "yes" as they enjoyed each other, the moment and each marveled a little in Bobby's genius Georgia Theatre marquee proposal!  Here are a few photos from that summer sunday moring in Athens.

Terminal West at King Plow

Spring/Summer 2012

Compiling this post took me a little while only because I wanted it to be perfect. Just the way two good friends of mine, Robert and Alan, have constructed Atlanta's newest concert venue and event hall, Terminal West.

The build began back in late 2011 when "studio C" became available on the properties of King Plow Art Center, located in Atlanta's west midtown. The space was completely gutted on the inside and left practicly nothing but walls and concrete before starting to rebuild.

Overall the construction took a total of about 5 months. The venue is now complete with 2 full indoor bars, 1 outdoor/patio bar, enourmous hardwood stage, incredible decour and an incomparable state of the art sound and lighting system! The opening months have been nothing short of amazing for the entire team at Terminal West. The spectrum of events hosted has varied from multiple breaktrough, sellout shows to futune-500 clients hosting their company events and even a wedding! Here's a few shots of the venue and what's been going on recently (March-July 2012):

Justine & Brian's Wedding

Fall 2011

Sometimes when two people click so well everything else around them just seems to go well too! That's exactly what happened one fall Satuday in Atlanta for Justine and Brian's wedding.  The entire event took place at King Plow Art Center located on the west midtown side of the city.

We were able to shoot some outside before the ceremony in a courtyard that looks like the landscaping was done by an artist.  Then the momentum quickly shifted to inside a beautiful art gallery were the ceremony took place.  Justine and Brian are an amazing couple that I wish all the best for and am very grateful for the opportunity to document this day for them. Here's a few photos from before and after the wedding:

"Greg Mike x Real Skateboards" Collaboration

Winter 2012

Back in February my good friend and Atlanta-based artist Greg Mike asked if I would shoot the launch event for his collab with the well known skate company "Real Skateboards." The event entailed a gallery exhibition of the six skate decks that Greg designed as well as a chance to skate a pair of custom painted "loud mouf" quarter pipe ramps! Needless to say I accepted the offer and am posting some of my favorite shots from the night here below.
