STS9 at Red Rocks Amphitheatre (Morrison, CO)

I was beyond excited when STS9, who's music I've been hooked on since college, asked Calder Wilson and I to fly out and photograph their annual shows at the world renowned Red Rocks Amphitheater, right outside Denver, Colorado. The 2 shows were in mid-September and the mountain climate could not have been more dialed in. Calder was to shoot the Friday night show and I the Saturday night.
Every time I climb back up the steep incline and enter back inside the gates of Red Rocks the same feeling of beauty and humility take over. It's really unlike any other outdoor venue of it's kind as it has the best natural acoustics due to the two incredibly tall mountain peeks that form the venue walls, keeping the sound waves right inside its core. Getting to see any performance here is seriously about as good as it gets.
A few additional highlights of this trip were cathcing ambient, down-tempo producer, XXYYXX open things up on the big stage and also getting to take some headshots/portraits for STS9 drummer, Zach Velmer. Here's a few choice frames from my night of shooting:
