True Music Festival (Scottsdale, AZ)
Winter 2013
I was really excited to be apart of the very first True Music Festival located in the desert-mountain city of Scottsdale, Arizona. For a first year, mid-sized festival the bill certainly drew some large names that I was pumped to shoot including Wiz Khalifa, Bassnectar, Capital Cities and The Flaming Lips. Even the middle and smaller portions of the bill had bands and producer's who made me happy I was brought on board including Griz, He's My Brother, She's My Sister and the Kopecky Family Band.
The first night entailed a pre-party at a brand new night club called INTL in a crazy strip of bars in downtown Scottsdale. Then the following day the festival was on a park that neighbored the off-season practice fields of both the Colorado Rockies and the Arizona Diamondbacks called Salt River Fiends at Talking Stick. The surrounding mountain ranges made for an awesome backdrop in a lot of the photos. Some festival surprises included three Burning Man oversized vehicles equipped w LED lights as well as certain VIP's opting to skydive into the festival!
